Perf metrics in Nagios

All,

    I see a whole lot of different choices for gathering and reporting
perf metrics:  Nagiosgraph, nagiosstat, perfparse, apan, etc.  Some use
mysql as the backend, some use rrdtool.  Some rely on the plugins return
performance information, others *parse* the output of normal plugins.
What is everyone else out there using and what are the pros / cons of
the tools available?
