Communicating with others via Nagios

Is there any way to get Nagios to pass along arbitrary messages
to all contacts for a particular host or service?

We've set up alerts via email and SMS, using a system that generates
a unique address for each host+service pair. Contacts can reply to
these with commands to acknowledge the problem or suspend further
checks for a period of time, either by email or SMS.

This works pretty well, but it seems the only way to broadcast a
message to everyone else is by acknowledging a problem. This makes
2-way communication pretty tricky, as once a problem is acknowledged
or goes away, we can't keep talking about it.

Any ideas for how to deal with this? Having not looked at the
Nagios source in any detail, I'm not sure how difficult it would
be to add an extra command similar to "Comment" but to also send
the message to all contacts. This is probably the preferred way
to handle it. Alternatively, an option to just make all comments
added be sent to the contacts as well could be useful.

Thoughts, anyone?
