Guys,

The catch is I receive emails on snmp traps and disk quota etc.....

But not on the host down or unreachable.

Please let me know If you need any config files to look at.
I will send them.

Hosts and Services have separate notification settings. Make sure your
host object is setup to notify.

		pertinent to troubleshooting. Additionally, I suggested
you look in
		your nagios.log to verify that nagios was sending out
the alerts.
