Downtime Notifications?

Is there a way to make a scheduled downtime send a notification at the
start/end of the downtime? (ie scheduled downtime on host/service is
starting/stopping)

I have scanned the FAQ's and didn't see anything along these lines. It
would probably be a useful feature.
