check_dhcp remote network

I am wondering if I can use the check_dhcp script to query a remote dhcp server that is not on the network of the central nagios server.
I know it works checking against the local dhcp server, but I need to know if it is possible to monitor a remote host without having the nagios client installed on the dhcp server.
