extended information

Okay all, I posted a while back about this and am reaching a greater
understanding of some things within Nagios....but still feel like a dork
with this.

I am trying to get extended host and service information to display in
Nagios. I am using Nagmin to do my configuration stuff and have only come
to realize just now that Nagios doesn't utilize the hostextinfo or
serviceextinfo config files. So I started doing some digging...even
experimenting with the cgi.cfg fie and I still can't get those stupid icons
to show up.

Now what are my options to make the extended information work? Enable
Nagios to utilize a mysql database for extended information? Well the
problem there is that doing a make on Nagios fails when I use the
--with-mysql-extinfo option...even if I tell it where the mysql client libs
are at. Please can someone help me?
