notifications_enabled not working?

I have a few printer status checks that I am trying to disable the
notifications for. Below is an example of one of the service checks and
although I dont seemt o be getting the notifications, within nagios that
service does not have the crossed out horn like my other disabled
notifications and if I click on the service to view the properties, it lists
"Service Notifications" as "Enabled". And if I look at the services list
from within Nagios, it appears to indicate that notifications are disabled?
Is there any way to repair this inconsistent behavior?
