That actually does ring a bell. It's been a long time but I remember
having that same error (and other time-related issues with postgres).
I'm 98% sure they turned out to be a postgres bugs. We're currently
running 7.3.4 and all is well. I'm not exactly sure at what release
versions each was fixed though. Just in case my mind is fuzzy (it
happens more these days ;)), I'd do a test installation of a newer
version of postgres before upgrading fully unless nagios is the only
thing you're using it for.
