Nagios replacing OpenView

Hi everyone,

I am currently investigating using Nagios as a complete replacement for
OpenView (NNM and ITO/VPO/OVO with mySAP.com Smart Plug-in) to monitor
our environment which is made up of AIX, Solaris, OS X, and a few lowly
NT boxes. Almost 800 servers and about another 600 network devices
(mostly Cisco, Foundry and NetScreens).

My only question right now is in regards to network performance and
health monitoring. Maybe I missed references to that topic in the docs
or in previous mail list emails, but I couldn't find much mention of
it. Please forgive me if I simply missed it.

my question: To produce alarms on, say high router CPU utilization, is
it just a matter of setting up a check_snmp command that collects the
SNMP OID for CPU%, or am I barking up the wrong tree here?
