Multipul Host IP in Version 1.1 on redhat

I have tried the following formats I always get host not found error.

If I remove all the other addresses from the hosts the monitoring 
becomes good.  Here is what I have tried.

address                 172.31.0.21,172.31.0.20
Status Information:PING CRITICAL - Host not found (172.31.0.21,172.31.0.20)

address                 172.31.0.21, 172.31.0.20
Status Information:PING CRITICAL - Host not found (172.31.0.21,)

address                 172.31.0.21 , 172.31.0.20
(No Information Returned From Host Check)

The first one is the one recommended in the FAQ's the rest were me 
trying other combinations because what was recommended in the FAQ's was 
not working.
