Getting Trends and Status Map cgi to work

Nagios users:

 

I was able to get all gd, png, zlib, etc. libraries to compile and
install correctly, I think, but could never get trends.cgi and
statusmap.cgi to work correctly.  For trends.cgi, I would go thru the
selection process for hosts or services, but could never get the
graphics to display.  Has anyone run into this?  What am I missing?
