statusmap layout algorithms

I'm currently doing the initial setup of Nagios, and have found the status map
useful for keeping an eye on what hosts are up/down and being monitored so
far.

A recent host I added increased the maximum "parents" depth from 1 to 2
levels, and immediately all automatic layout methods ceased to function. If I
remove the host, all is well again.

I can't find anything in the documentation that addresses this directly (no
reference to a max depth in the standard algorithms). So.. I'm wondering if
this is really because of the change of parent depth, or if there's something
else in play here and I'm being distracted by the obvious.

If this is a known limitation of the default algorithms I can live with that,
and will start working on manually defined coordinates. However (and again
assuming this limit is real) it would be a good idea if some reference was
made to this limit in the CGI docs for default_statusmap_layout.
