check_disk problem on Solaris 8

I am trying to run some disk checks against Solaris 8 systems. I built
nagios-plugins-1.3.1 as follows:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/nagios-1.1 --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
--with-open ssl=/usr/local/ssl --with-df-command=/usr/local/bin/df
--with-ping-command=/usr/sbin/ping --with-nagios-user=nagios
--with-nagios-group=nagios

I am using df in /usr/local/bin, which is the GNU compatrible version.

Here is sample output from the df command:

file-0202:/usr/local/nagios-1.1/libexec #/usr/local/bin/df
/mnt/data/raid1/comp-biol/
Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/vx/dsk/compbioldg/comp-biol 986699559 610657253 366175311 63%
/mnt/data/raid1/comp-biol

Here is what I get when I run check_disk:

#/usr/local/nagios-1.1/libexec/check_disk -w 10% -c 5%
/mnt/data/raid1/comp-biol/

Unable to read output:
/usr/local/bin/df /mnt/data/raid1/comp-biol/
/dev/vx/dsk/compbioldg/comp-biol

I also tried:

Are my mount points and device paths to long for the utility or is my
problem elsewhere? (for example, lacking Veritas support??)

Note: I have not even tried to run this remotely via nrpe yet, just
trying to get it to work locally first.

Muchas Gracias,
CC
