check_ping modification?

Hi,
I have a situation where I need to modify check_ping to allow me to
specify the interval between ping (-I for /bin/ping).  We apparently
have some ICMP rate limiting going on at our ISP which is caused all our
client's connections to appear to have 40% packet loss ;-)

I know nothing of C and despite reading through the code for check_ping
several times I can't spot the place where the command is specified.  I
would very much it appreciate if someone could point me to the
appropriate line to modify.  I wouldn't mind hard-coding the -I value at
all.  Or if anyone has a perl version of check_ping then I could easily
adapt that.
