Nagios 'stops checking'

Hi,

i have a big problem with my nagios-setup.
the setup consists of 1 central nagios-instance on a 2,4ghz pentium4
machine and 2 nagios-instances each on a distributed machine.
the setup run very nice for some weeks. since i added some additional
services (now all up about 800) i get problems on the central server
each 10 hours:
the nagios on the central server don't recognize the passive check
results. it's strange:
the passive checks go right through nsca and get logged in the
nagios.log, but i dont see the new checks on the webfrontend, no
notifications are send, the freshness-checks don't recognize that the
checkresults aren't passed.
can somebody help?

regards,
  Wolfgang Fellner
