ping/failed to install socket filter

Hi,

I was not able to find mutch information on this topic...

I am checking several hosts via ping over the internet.
When there are more than one hosts beeing checked at the same time I get
an 'WARNING: failed to install socket filter' and the check is going to
WARNING state, which is painful for me, getting spammed by my own
system...

however, I found a comment, that it may be because of the concurring pings
not beeing able to open two icmp raw sockets tu listen to the ping reply.

Now my question is:

Is it possible to execute several other service-checks at the same time,
but only one ping at a time ?

I have ping added as a service on some machines because they can not
beeing checked another way.
