check_snmp configuration

I have not been able to find an example for using check_snmp.

I would like to monitor snmp statistics on linux boxes, etc,
especially using the net-snmp server.

I have used check_snmp to obtain the values but would like
an example of how to setup a service to monitor this using the
nagios web displays


./check_snmp -H linuxServer -C public -o 
enterprises.ucdavis.memory.memTotalFree.0
SNMP OK - 2098816

How can I configure a service to periodically perform and report on this 
query ?
