Status Map Placement

It is my understanding that the branching in the statusmap view is
defined by the 'parents' directive for each host. Specify the router as
the parent for each switch in their host configuration. If there is no
parent defined then Nagios is the default.

Can someone confirm that? I don't use the statusmap view.
