graphs && restarts

I have not been able to find anything in the mailing list archive or the
documentation, a URL would be greatly appreciated. When I restart
Nagios, after adding hosts or services, it causes a gap in the trend
reports. This has become an annoyance to a few customers and I was
wondering if there was a way to have nagios assume and auto fill-in that
gap with the state of the host/service before the restart.
