Missing Notifications

I have the same problem every once in a while - if i run in daemon mode -
sometimes it will just stop sending notifications.  The notifications are noted
in the nagios log - but the mail system never records recieving them.

What I have done if/when this happens - is restart the nagios process using at -
and run it w/out the -d switch.    this has "recovered" the loss of
notifications for me.

I am on 1.0

Any idea how we can solve this? Should I revert back to Nagios 1.0 in the
mean time?
