Check_ifoperstatus / check_snmp_if

I've run into a problem with these 2 plugins.  Both have nagios owner permissions and can operate just fine having logged in as nagios and executing the commands.  The problem is that when I plug the information into the services.cfg, the webpage reports    (No Output!) next to both of those plugins.  I am running FreeBSD 4.8 w/ nagios 1.1.  Any insight would be much appreciated.  Thanks!
