host notification only if multiple hosts critical?

Hello,

Is it possible to configure a notification only if multiple hosts or
services are in critical? For example, send notification only if host_a AND
host_b AND host_c are in critical? I've found variations of this question
posted to the mailing list, but no answer. Is there a better way than to
write a custom plugin that does all of the logic within the plugin?
