The problem is that uptime often returns slightly different formats on each
version of unix.

There is the "uptime_by_snmp" plugin though, which uses the check_snmp
plugin to get it for you.

Subject: [Nagios-users] Plugin for uptime on Unix

Is there a standard plugin for monitoring uptime on Unix? I need to monitor
for an unexpected reboot that may occur between polling cycles. I think
check_nt will work for Windows, but I do not see an equivalent for Unix. I
did a web search and came up with nothing. Note that the Archive is
currently down so I apologize if this question has come up before. Thanks
for any info.
