Change "Status Information" on status.cgi

Hello,

Can I change the output text displayed in "Status Information" for any 
plugin? Or I have to change the source of the plugin?

For instance, put my text "Check Serial2 OK" on "Status Information" instead 
"OK: Serial2 (index 12) is up" which is the standard plugin output.
