Monitoring an intermittent host

All,
I have an intermittent host that connects for 15 minutes out of every hour. I only want to be notified that it is down if it does not connect for a couple of hours. I see how I can make the check interval longer but this does not really solve my problem. The remote host has a lot of drift. I imagine there is an easy way to do this but I am missing it if so. I looked through the options in the configuration file and searched the archives (as best I could for some reasons the archives for this list are not available right now) Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Don
