logo problems

hi all

This may be a FAQ, but I've RTFM, and I still can't work out why it doesn't 
work.

I have added the following line to nagios.cfg.

xedtemplate_config_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostextinfo.cfg

in hostextinfo.cfg, I have entries like these

define hostextinfo {
        hostname        firewall
        icon_image_alt  Firewall
        icon_image      linux40.gif
        statusmap_image linux40.gd2
}

the base logo set is copied into /usr/local/nagios/share/images/logos (also 
tried /usr/local/nagios/share/logos and /usr/local/nagios/logos, but I still 
only get ?'s up everywhere. Apache doesn't give me any 'not found' error 
messages either, so what's happening?
