Gnokii says yes..i say no

>From what you have described I can't see any particular problem. I
happily use nagios from RedHat 7.2 and 8. 
A couple of points:
* I had some locking problems originally and during my testing found
that notifications in the nagios log file did not reliably reflect a
sent message. Yes nagios thinks it has sent a notification but if there
was a problem with gnokii then the log file entry was incorrect, as you
have found.
* I'm using gnokii 0.4.3 and in the gnokiirc file have 
             use_locking = yes
  That means that you will have to have access to write to /var/lock
* I've made nagios a member of the gnokii, lock, and uucp groups for
their respective permissions. But if you can run gnokii from a nagios
user command line it shouldn't be a permissions problem.
