Have you moved the location of your status.log file? Check your cgi.cfg
file and make sure you can run the following command. (or similar)

# NAGIOS PROCESS CHECK COMMAND
nagios_check_command=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nagios
/usr/local/nagios/var/status.log 5 '/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios'

Thanks.

Ric.

Subject: [Nagios-users] Warning: Monitoring process may not be running

I am running Nagios 1.0b1 for quite some time now. I received the
following message on the web front end (Warning: Monitoring process may
not be running). Where should I start to look? When I go into the
process info, I receive the following: "It appears as though Nagios is
not running, so commands are temporarily unavailable." It appears that
all the checks are being scheduled and performed. I am running this on
Red Hat 7.3 with kernel 2.4.18-3

TIA,
John
