Notifications by e-mail

When I start the sendmail service the notification is work, but I can't
start sendmail service in Nagios servers.
Exist some options on the Nagios for use smtp server of another machine ?
I want to redirect the notification by email for another machine.

You can use any SMTP (25) you can test the nagios account to manualy send a
message from the prompt, if you can send out a message nagios will send
notifications.

# su - nagios
nagios> mail user at domain.com

Can I to use other smtp server ?
For instance, use the smtp server that is my E-mail Server instead smtp
server (sendmail) in Nagios Server ?

When you disable the ability of your system to send mail, you will not
receive any mail from this system. What exactly do you find surprising
in this?

(Of course, sendmail as a program is not neccessary, but you need the
functionality)
