I had the same problem. The solution was to remove a space on the first line in the sh-scripts in the plugin-scripts directory (from '#! /bin/sh' to '#!/bin/sh'

Subject:	[Nagios-users] Nagios Plugins Installation

Hi !!

I´ve downloaded Nagios 1.0b5 and it installed without problems.
Now I wanted to install the plugins. I got them from sourceforge
(version 1.3-beta1) and they don´t compile.
The ./configure script runs without problems, but when I want to make them
(make all) I always get the same error:
cd . &&
/bin/sh: -c: line 2: syntax error: unexpected end of file
make: *** [aclocal.m4] Error2

What can I do.
We momently run Netsaint but we have problems with the
Status map, so I want to install the newer nagios.

Thanx for any hints
