nrpe + plugins for SUNOS 5.8?

NRPE seems to config & install fine. The nagios plugins, on the other
hand, seems to have a problem:

after ./configure, I type make all and get the follwoing errors:

Making all in plugins
mksh: Fatal error in reader: = missing from replacement macro reference
Current working directory /tmp/nagios/nagiosplug-1.3-beta1/plugins
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all-recursive'

Any thoughts?
