folks,

I have a test nagios system running as a "central server" that I got
up and running to replace our main central server running
netsaint-0.0.6

The problem is that the new server running nagios beta6 is not able to
receive passive results from the distributed machines running
netsaint-0.0.6, I have verified almost all items like new central
server able to accept passive results, performing "tcpdump" on the
central server to verify the traffic coming from the distributed
machines. In addition I also saw that the port 5667 on the central
server is open for listening.

I am beginning to suspect that it is the format of the results coming
from distributed machines in netsaint mode that is not recognized by
the central server and therefore just being dropped by it. Do all
distributed machines of the central server (running nagios) has to be
running nagios as well?

I have been docs and FAQs and didn't find anything related to it, so I
am in a confused state right now. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.
