Creating Delay in notifications

It seems to me that an easier method would be to set your max_check_attempts=4 and your retry_check_interval=3. With the default interval_length of 60 seconds, that will mean Nagios will wait ~15 minutes before putting the service in a HARD down state and sending a notification.
