Can you upload your ./configure line you used to compile nagios in the
first place. Did you mean to use the old(default) method or did you want
to use the more uptodate template method?

Subject: [Nagios-users] Nagios 1.0 new installation - question regarding
checkcommands.cfg

Hi,

I am trying a new installation of nagios and I have some trouble
starting nagios.

I cannot start it, because I always get this error message:

[11-29-2002 13:10:57] Bailing out due to one or more errors encountered
in the configuration files. Run Nagios from the command line with the -v
option to verify your config before restarting. (PID=1592)
[11-29-2002 13:10:57] Nagios 1.0 starting... (PID=1592)
[11-29-2002 13:10:57] Error: Unexpected token or statement in file
'/usr/local/nagios/etc/checkcommands.cfg' on line 29.
[11-29-2002 13:05:17] Bailing out due to one or more errors encountered
in the configuration files. Run Nagios from the command line with the -v
option to verify your config before restarting. (PID=1515)
[11-29-2002 13:05:17] Nagios 1.0 starting... (PID=1515)
[11-29-2002 13:05:17] Error: Unexpected token or statement in file
'/usr/local/nagios/etc/checkcommands.cfg' on line 29.

this happens with whatever command I define there. It always happens in
the first "command[xyz]"-line. Attached you find that checkcommand-file.
It comes from the latest plugins, but the error also occurs with the
release-plugins. Nagios is version 1.0

Any ideas?

THANKS
Markus
