Command line interface to acknowledge host problem

Hello,

I have a server running nagios 1.0b5, acknowledgments work as expected
from the web interface.  My problem is that off-hours I will only have
console, ie telnet, access to the nagios server.  Is there a command
line way to acknowledge an alert?
