nagios problem

Question / Problem

I installed  Nagios 1.0 and gd 2.0.9.  when I attempt to use user 
defined coordinates, I get a "Internal Server Error".
The error_log file contains "Premature end of script headers: 
/usr/local/nagios/sbin/statusmap.cgi"

I trimmed everything down to a single host and tried different x,y 
coordinates - negative...
