Hi,

This is my first post on the list. i have just joined to naemon-users list.
My name is Peter, from Hungary. I have been using Nagios (v3) for 3-4 years
for monitoring appr. 100 hosts and 500 services. I have just installed my
4th monitoring server based on Naemon (v1.0.3) and it seem to be good :)

The reason I write to you is a minor bug I faced during upgrade. Minor,
because workaround was found within a few minutes.

System: Debian 8

#1 The problem (some parts are Hungarian, but I wrote the main problem in
English down):

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

dpkg: hiba a csomag feldolgozásakor: naemon-core (--configure):
a(z) telepítve post-installation parancsfájl részfolyamat 1 hiba kilépési
állapottal tért vissza
Hibák történtek a feldolgozáskor:
 naemon-core
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
root at monitoring2:/etc/naemon

In English:
chown: ”/etc/naemon/conf.d/*.cfg” does not exist: No such file or directory
chown: ”/etc/naemon/conf.d/templates/*.cfg” does not exist: No such file or
directory

#2 My conf directory:
ls -l /etc/naemon/conf.d

root at monitoring2:/etc/naemon/conf.d# ls -l
összesen 16
drwxr-sr-x 11 root naemon 4096 aug 9 14:54 00_general
drwxr-sr-x 7 root naemon 4096 aug 9 15:39 hosts
-rw-r--r-- 1 root naemon 260 aug 9 14:40 howto.txt
drwxrwsr-x 2 naemon naemon 4096 szept 26 08:12 templates
root at monitoring2:/etc/naemon/conf.d#

#3 Workaround:
I have created cfg files on both locations as follows:
name: dummy.cfg
content: # naemon upgrade throws error if it does not find cfg files under
its conf.d and conf.d/templates directory. - PeterV, Sep 26 2015

Now the upgrade goes properly.

I hope this helps for you as well.

Regards,
Peter
