configure.in : pedantic fixes

Hi;
I've a few edits to configure.in, they should cause no functional change,
but satisfy the autotools a bit. I suspect this is simply because
autotools' API have evolved a bit over time. Basically, it's just adding
the descriptions that autoconf now wants in AC_DEFINE*() (where "want" is
"require", kinda how the Customs guys always "want" to check my luggage, and
I can't really say "no")

I've attached a configure.in.diff, which is a "cvs diff -u" from current
HEAD, and a configure.in which is the result of this patch; whichever is
easiest to look at.
