I'm sorry - I thought of the wrong blocking thing.

Need more information on this.
Nagios and DB on the same host?
Host stressed up?

I would suggest to first backup or mirror your database, apply the
mysql-mods-VERSION.sql file, it should set up some finer indizies, test
your app and decide to fall back to your old scheme or keep the new one
(with more indizies).

Think about the three magic words in IT: BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP
on the other side: Never touch a running system, neverever on friday ;)
