2) Problem: Nagios 3.0.3 core dumps and slowing down when command/plugin
problems.

Troubleshouting:

With Nagios 3.0.2 no problem.

You can only find the root cause when you launch Nagios manualy at the

command promp like:

/opt/monitoring/nagios/bin/nagios /opt/monitoring/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

- when nagios have no right to execute the fping command or

- when nagios cannot found /opt/csw/libexec/nagios-plugins/check_fping

a plugin to execute

When nagios runs in deamon mode, you can't sea the problem, yoiu only

see that the deamon

is continuously is restarting and because of this, Nagios when very slow.

Solution:

Instead of crashing, can you make a list af all possible to execute

commands/plugins

and try to execute them during nagios verify.

Then can you also produce a list of all problems related to these

commands/plugins with

the output of the related problems, and mask these command so the are

not executed.
