Bad thing.
1. I wouldn't expect an error message like "NRPE: could not complete
ssl handshake" in NDO ;(
2. Patching the "Makefile"s wouldn't help, since they were build from
configure out of the "Makefile.in" files.
3. more things against the configure stuff

So please adjust your patches to correct the codeline which you get
from the NRPE stuff and rewrite them for NDO.
Eval the differrences between Makefile.in and the resulting Makefile
and do your changes in the "*.in" files

When you're done with this, please send the patch and I will review /
change it to be compatible with the autoconf stuff.
