Hi Andreas;
I've updated the patch, and would really appreciate your help.  Can you see
it in the comment on the original wiki permalink:

I'm build-testing it on a few architectures to confirm a clean-build
with/without "--enable-ldap"

If you can grab this and take a look at some of the things I had to do in
the base/config.c to pick up the main config variables, I'm looking for some
insight to converting this to a NEB.  I get the impression that a NEB would
get better acceptance hence wider re-use, so your feedback and insight would
help me in my goal
