He surely will try, then whine. check_oracle_health will not work with RDB. 
OracleRDB is a mission-critical database system running on VMS, which has nothing to do with the Oracle databases everyone knows. I don't know why, but i'm already flooded with mail from India, which have all the same similar text: "need check_oracle_health with rdb. project is urgent. please support"

p.s. @Gopalan, 
take the source of check_oracle_health, it's free. Then change the SQL inside and publish it as check_rdb_health. You will be a hero!

Have tou tried this http://www.consol.de/opensource/nagios/check-oracle-health ? 
Also, the nagios-plugins comes with some basic oracle scripts.
