Before I forget.. Any chance you could implement them verbatim one by
one first and then commit whatever changes you feel prudent on top of
the last one? The messages on top of the patches (past the mail-headers)
should make decent commit-messages.

I've got some more work in the queue, and it would help me port those
changes over to whatever the new cvs head turns out to be without
any manual work if any fixups (such as renaming the logit() function)
are committed later.
