Service and Host Result Freshness Checks documentation clarification request

I would like the answer to the following question to be answered in the 
documentation:

Once a service is determined to be stale and the freshness check command 
executes, how often does it reexecute (if at all)?  Does it depend on 
the retry_check_interval?
