nagios-cvs: Too many open files?

A huge amount of files. Much more than services and hosts and sometimes too much to list. And allthough most of them are empty (0 bytes)

hm, this might be part of the problem but I guess there is another problem inside nagios. i should have mentioned that all of my hosts and services are passiv. Maybe  "passive host bug" wasn't completly solved :).

I hope my notes will help. we realy need nagios3 :)
