Help regarding API's that nagios provides.

Hi , I am in the process of writing a connector to integrate nagios with our
exisiting framework.I am looking for different  programmatic interface that
nagios provides..It would be nice if anybody could send me the link as to
where I could find more information regarding this ..Thanks in advance .
