Database support in Nagios 2.x

Hi,

I'm currently running Nagios 1.3 in a distributed setup with database
support (mysql).  I badly need the passive host checks that are enabled in
version 2.x and not in 1.x.
Any idea if/when database support might become available in 2.x?
