event broker samples?

There is one included in the module directory. I'm looking at writing 
one to implement logging to sockets, but it's far from done yet, as I'm 
having a bit trouble understanding how to register the 
callback-functions and receive any data. I'm starting to think it'll be 
easier to just patch Nagios instead...
