How to acknowledge a notification from external command file

I am looking for the command Service Acknowledgement and Host Acknowledgement to a notification using the External Command file though this is possible from the CGI interface there does not appear to be any acknowledgement command(s) listed in the External Command documentation.

 

I have search the documentation and the mail lists and could not find anything though there is a couple of routines in the nogios code, cmd_acknowledge_problem and cmd_remove acknowledgement, that seems to imply that this may be supported.

 

Is there a way to acknowledge a notification using the External Command file ?
